231 chelsea: nike focus photography exhibition
Earlier this month, 231 Chelsea Gallery was transformed into a dynamic venue for Nike Focus, a photography exhibition celebrating the iconic NY vs. NY basketball games. Known for its clean white-box aesthetic, the space was reimagined with custom vinyl installations across the glass storefront windows, giving passersby a preview of the exhibition and drawing in steady foot traffic from Chelsea’s busy streets.

Inside, the venue’s open layout became the perfect canvas for the work of twelve emerging photographers. Their images — capturing the energy, emotion, and community of the games — were displayed throughout the space, enhanced by lighting and flexible installations that highlighted the adaptability of the gallery.

The opening night on Thursday featured a DJ, full bar, and a packed house of artists, athletes, and industry tastemakers. By Friday and Saturday, the doors were open to the public, turning the space into a cultural hub where New Yorkers could engage directly with the exhibition at street level.
